LYME LITERATE DOCTOR IN SEATTLE

Dr. Susan Marra has been practicing medicine since 1998,  and her own battle with tick-borne illness taught her, firsthand, what it actually takes to get well.

That experience didn’t just make her empathetic to what her patients are going through. It made her a sharper diagnostician, a more persistent researcher, and a Lyme literate doctor who refuses to settle for “manage the symptoms” when getting to remission is possible.

Today, patients in Seattle, and via telehealth across Washington, come to Dr. Marra when they’ve been dismissed, misdiagnosed, or stuck on a treatment plan that isn’t working. She specializes in untangling complex, multi-system illness and building a plan that treats the whole person, not just a lab value.

A LYME DISEASE SPECIALIST THAT TREATS THE ROOT CAUSE

Chronic tick-borne illness rarely stays contained to one system. Left untreated, it can disrupt the microbiome, alter hormone balance, damage detoxification pathways, activate MCAS, and drive the kind of systemic inflammation that leaves patients with a long list of specialists and no clear answers.

Dr. Marra’s approach draws on clinical nutrition, herbal and botanical medicine, German biologic medicine, and restorative medicine, combining the best of conventional diagnostics with integrative treatment. Rather than treating each symptom in isolation, she works to identify the underlying infections and dysfunction driving the whole picture, then builds a plan specific to that patient’s physiology.

Patients consistently point to the same thing: she listens, she digs until she finds the root cause, and she’s honest about what recovery actually takes.
